Welcome to Wednesday Night Wine!
Now that you’re here, let me tell you a bit about me...

I’ve got a pretty simple story: I love wine and I believe that when wine is enjoyed with people you care about the world seems like a better place. Wednesday Night Wine has grown out of my desire to write honestly and engagingly about wine and to create fun, educational experiences for people who share my passion and want to learn more about this very special drink.

My guiding principles are:

  1. Wine should never be intimidating, snobby or complicated.
  2. Pairing wine and food is an art, a science and one of the greatest gifts you can share with people.
  3. Life is indeed too short to drink bad wine, but good wine does not need to cost a fortune.

I am a certified sommelier, having studied with the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers and the Court of Master Sommeliers. I’ve had incredible experiences working in top restaurants in Toronto: I started my career at Canoe, I was opening sommelier at Alo and most recently I was the sommelier and general manager at Bacchanal. I've been fortunate to have had the opportunity to pour beautiful wines and hone my taste buds while working with the most talented chefs to create delicious food and wine pairings for guests. I have realized, however, that I want to connect with people and communicate in a different way, reaching people outside of a formal restaurant setting, whose day-to-day enjoyment of wine might be enhanced by what I have to offer.

Wine can be life changing and making it is a serious business, but drinking wine should be fun on any night of the week – Wednesdays included – and learning something about it should never be a chore or a bore. Through Wednesday Night Wine I offer a window into the fascinating world of wine with my unending sense of wonder, absolutely no affectation, just the right amount of geekiness and many tasty experiences in store for anyone who wants to join me.
